In 1980, Hantel began producing pewter miniatures in Scotland. These figures are hand painted and are of the highest quality. Generally, these figures are jointed and average about 2" in height. From the first germ of an idea for a piece, through research, design, casting and painting, until the new piece is ready for market, is about 3 months. Detail is the most important aspect and the piece will go through many changes before it is deemed ready for production. The pieces are mostly taken from old fairy tales, nursery rhymes and children's literature.

From the Alice in Wonderland series comes old favorites such as Alice, the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit and Tweedledee and Tweedledum, to lesser seen pieces such as the Gryphon, Mock Turtle, Duchess, Fish Messenger and the Playing Card Gardeners. Cinderella is there with her wicked stepmother and sisters, her Fairy Godmother and even her Coach and Glass Slipper. Little Bo Peep has her sheep, the Owl is with the Pussycat, full circus sets and more. There is something for everyone to be enchanted by, something to take you briefly back to your childhood memories.
