Originated in 1810, it is just a short 3 years until Wade celebrates their 200th anniversary! We can only imagine what lovely pieces they will come up with for us then. Collecting Wade is only a part of what we do at Your Miniatures, but it is the backbone of our business.
Originally started as a manufacture of porcelain and ceramic industrial products, plumbing fixtures, tiling and the like, Wade eventually branched out into the figurine market in the early 1900s. It wasn't until 1953 that the whimise was born, and since that time, the collectable market has taken off. Whimsies are the launch pad for many a collection, from the early First whimsies of the 1950s through the Red Rose tea figures of the 1970s and 80s to the new molds such as the pieces that we have and continue to commission from Wade, these solid porcelain pieces continue to show up in the most eclectic collections.
Within these pages, it will be our pleasure to take you on a tour of various styles and series of Wade, from the earliest to the most recent. We are fortunate enough to have had pass through our hands some of the rarest of the rare, from Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, the 1930s Cellulose pieces including Snow White and the Seven dwarfs, George Wade pieces, Faust Lang models, Jessie Van Hallen ladies and First Whimsies to the most recent Wade Club pieces and even one of a kind pieces.
