From 1980-87, Wade produced a whimsical series of buildings that they augmented with maps and even a newspaper to promote the new village, Whimsey-On-Why. Closely followed by other towns, it was a charming concept and highly popular. There were several set molds, but the detailing to each piece gave them individuality and character. Unfortunately, the costs of the pieces finally made it impractical to continue, so the series ended. In the early 2000’s, Key Kollectables built on their popularity and created the Whimsey-On-Why villagers series.
